Digital Asset’s Canton Network has successfully completed its fourth set of onchain repo transactions, marking a significant milestone with the first cross-border intraday repo utilizing tokenized UK Gilts.
The transactions build on previous efforts from December 2025, which introduced cross-border intraday repos using tokenized deposits in multiple currencies. This latest round expands the scope by incorporating tokenized Gilts for the first time, including cross-currency repos where Gilts were traded against non-British Pound tokenized deposits. The initiative demonstrates enhanced asset diversification and underscores the network's ability to facilitate seamless, real-time financial operations on a blockchain infrastructure designed for institutional use.
Participating organizations included a mix of established players and new entrants: London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), Euroclear, Citadel Securities, Tradeweb, Societe Generale, Virtu Financial, The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), Digital Asset, Cumberland DRW, TreasurySpring, Archax, and IntellectEU. The addition of Archax, a regulated digital asset exchange, broker, and custodian, along with increased involvement from European firms like TreasurySpring and LSEG, signals broadening traction in international markets.
Bud Novin, Head of Payment Systems at LSEG's Post Trade Solutions, emphasized the role of their Distributed Ledger Settlement House (DiSH) network:
"We are delighted to welcome Citadel Securities and TreasurySpring to the LSEG DiSH network and to have successfully completed the first tokenized intraday Gilt repo on the Canton Network using DiSH Cash. This reinforces the role of LSEG DiSH as a trusted third-party cash leg for digital asset transactions."
