Tether, the world's leading stablecoin issuer, has announced a strategic investment in Axiym, a cutting-edge fintech company specializing in distributed treasury and settlement infrastructure. The partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of digital assets like USD₮ in regulated payment systems worldwide, promising faster, more efficient cross-border transactions.
Tether, often hailed as the largest player in the digital asset space, described the investment as a key step in its broader mission to democratize access to global financial systems. Axiym's platform, which already facilitates real-time payments and settlements across 140 countries and 70 currencies, will now integrate Tether's USD₮ stablecoin natively. This integration is designed to embed financial services such as "Pay Now, Settle Later" (PNSL), a post-pay settlement option that enhances capital efficiency and simplifies operations for payment processors and global aggregators.
By weaving USD₮ directly into existing regulated ecosystems, the collaboration eliminates the need for companies to source the stablecoin externally or navigate separate settlement paths. Instead, businesses can access USD₮ right where their traditional USD holdings are managed, streamlining treasury operations and reducing complexity in international payments. Axiym's infrastructure ensures that payment execution, USD₮ flows, and settlements occur seamlessly, making global transactions near-instantaneous and more predictable.
Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, emphasized the investment's role in breaking down barriers to financial inclusion. "Tether’s investment in Axiym reflects our commitment to advancing broader access to global finance," Ardoino said. "By supporting native USD₮’s use cases in an advanced payment ecosystem, we are removing barriers to liquidity and simplifying access to the distribution of USD₮, paving the way for more efficient and scalable payments worldwide. We believe that operationally scalable and compliant approaches are key to unlocking broader financial participation."
