Companies mentioned:

Quick Take
  • Anchorage Digital, a federally chartered crypto bank, now provides custody for BlackRock's BUIDL token.
  • The platform added a total of 25 new assets across the Avalanche, Ethereum, and HyperEVM networks.
  • This expansion highlights a growing convergence between traditional finance and regulated digital asset infrastructure.

Anchorage Digital, a federally chartered crypto bank, has expanded its institutional custody services to support 25 new digital assets across multiple blockchain networks. This strategic move underscores the bank's commitment to bridging traditional finance (TradFi) with decentralized finance (DeFi), catering to the surging demand for secure, compliant access to tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) and yield-generating tokens.

This integration allows Anchorage clients to custody BUIDL in a regulated environment, enabling seamless participation in on-chain yields while maintaining bankruptcy-remote protections.

Beyond BUIDL, the update spans diverse ecosystems and asset types, enhancing liquidity and DeFi opportunities:

  • Ethereum: OpenEden (EDEN), a tokenized treasury product; RektCoin (REKT), a meme-inspired token; EthSign (SIGN), focused on decentralized signing; and YieldFi's yBTC and yETH, which are yield-bearing wrapped versions of Bitcoin and Ether for optimized DeFi strategies.
  • HyperEVM: USDC (the leading stablecoin), HyperUSDH (USDH), and USDT0, providing stable value anchors for cross-chain transactions.
  • Linea: Wrapped eETH (WEETH), an ether staking derivative for enhanced liquidity.
  • Scroll: Native ETH and SCR tokens, supporting zero-knowledge rollup scalability.
  • Solana: A robust lineup including Bonk (BONKSOL), Bybit's Staked SOL (BBSOL) for staking rewards, Codec (CODEC), Corda (CORDA) for enterprise blockchain interoperability, Ford (FORD), Light Protocol (LIGHT) for privacy-focused applications, MetaDAO (METADAO), and Pipe Network (PIPE).
  • Starknet: Lombard Finance's Staked Bitcoin (LBTC), Solv Protocol's SOLVBTC, tBTC (TBTC) as a threshold-wrapped Bitcoin, and Wrapped BTC (WBTC), all facilitating Bitcoin's entry into DeFi.

This diverse selection targets high-growth areas like BTC DeFi, stablecoins, and RWAs, aligning with broader market trends where tokenized assets are unlocking trillions in value.
